I ❤️ Me, Flaws and All

The Japanese have a tradition of mending broken pottery with gilded epoxies. This process makes the once broken pieces even more beautiful than they were before. I think of this often when it comes to my tattoos, my life, myself. I was taught not to fall, to never break, that strength was key. To shatter was not only irreparable but also unforgivable. So I held it together, I stayed staid, until I imploded and exploded. The details aren't so important, the aftermath lead me down quite an amazing path. I was free to just be me! It was sometimes treacherous, laborious, but always glorious. I gathered up the bits that were Me, putting them back together in the above fashion. Twinkling cracks that are perfectly visible but no longer ugly. Now they are part of my worth. What I want for everyone is to see that it's ok to crack, even break. The pieces will come back together, the work you do on yourself is that gold glue that shines brighter than pristine porcelain. I'll help you sort through the broken bits, put them back together to recreate a you that you love. Work with me and together let's make you, You.
